Jaipur- The Pink City

Wondering why Jaipur is called Pink City?
Here's why- During the rule of Sawai Ram Singh (ruler of Amer in 1727) the whole city was painted pink to welcome Edward, Prince of Wales. Even today, avenues remain painted in pink, giving Jaipur a distinctive appearance.
The majestic beauty of this place will keep you in an awe struck situation!
The mystic palaces and royal gates not only showcase India's proud history but also instill in them a magnificat charm.
Planning to visit the city? I say go ahead!
City Palace, Jaipur, which includes the Chandra Mahal and Mubarak Mahal palaces and other buildings, is a palace complex.
I know history won't impress you much and I don't want to get you bored. But yes! You'll be pleased to know that the palace is still a royal residence.
Not just that! You'll have an amazing time exploring the vast courtyards and museums, specially the art gallery and weapon house.
To add a spark to your visit you'll be welcomed by a snake charmer at the entrance along with a 5 minute puppet show!
And yes, do not forget to get clicked dressed up in turbans or complete Rajasthani attire. It'll add to your memory treasure box.
.

Apart from the City Palace, you must explore Naharghad and Amer forts, situated on hill tops.
The city view from here will simply enthrall you. The drive to these forts would be even more exciting, if you're out on a road trip.
The tranquil beauty of the hills, the scenic beauty of Jaipur, company of your loved ones along with some snacks to enjoy the ride. Trust me, it would be a ride to remember!

Hawa Mahal, Jal Mahal and Jantar Mantar situated close to each other are also great to explore. Do not forget to walk down the streets close to these sites for you'll find beautiful art works around.
Ladies! You'll love the streets here, for they are beautified with numerous multi coloured shimmering garments and desi footwear! Not to forget the spectacular jeweleries!
Moving on, hope you're fond of food.
You are?
Then do try pyaaz ki kachodi and dal bati choorma, the best you'll ever taste! And if you have a demanding sweet tooth like I do, enjoy the delicious matka kufi. You'll find it almost everywhere!
Information not enough? I'd say, pack your bags and escape for  the weekend, you'll not have anything less than a memorable experience. Let your gypsy soul explore the beauty of this city as I could go on about the place and not stop.
But I should hit my brakes right here so that you can hit the roads!

Cheers!

Believe in What You Love!

People always wonder whether Travel blogging is a new out break in the field of travel and tourism. Is it worth the money? Is it worth the output? Is it worth anything at all? How do travel bloggers earn? How do they survive? Do they invest their money on the right platform? Is it safe?

My take on this issue is rather flamboyant. I believe if one has the passion to do something he or she will go through numerous risks and dangerous to just live their lives the way the want.

A basic question one must ask: "What is my passion?"

This is an important question to ask yourself when you decide to take the leap of faith and turn your blog into a business.

What are you passionate about? What do you love so much you would do for free a million times over? And how does that fit in with your blog?

Be it anything you must be passionate of what you do and avoid the temptations of wealth and luxury living.

Talking about travel blogging, there are end numbers of risks stitched together. But does this become a reason of fear for those who are passionate about this? At least not for me.

I just don't love travelling, it is something which keeps me alive. My personal take on this issue is that money is just a mere source which helps me live my dream. I don't seek to earn, I seek to explore so that life doesn't escape me.

People who fear and people who want to lead a settled life must think about it, as, this is not something you could do sitting at your desks or in your bed... Well of course yes, while I write this piece, I lay comfortable on my bed. But it is not the case always.

I cannot write without exploring. And without travelling I cannot explore. As a matter of fact, I am not a great writer, not even near to good. But yes! My blog will help me in building and brushing my skills. May be one day I'd be hired by one of you reading this piece.

Haha! That's just me and my optimistic soul with a little ray of hope.

This is my passion and all I know is that no matter how much risk this field may involve, I will go on no matter what it takes.

In the end, you should follow your heart. Keep dreaming, explore your passion and just go full throttle to achieve it!

Cheers!

PS: That's me at Naharghard Fort, Jaipur. I came, I saw, I conquered. Now I'm on to the next!

Life at GGSIPU

Ever wondered how monotonous yet exciting college life could be?

Here in my campus you'll find almost everything which could make you happy.
It has been a year here yet I'm still exploring the campus. From the humongous ground to the swimming pool, cafeteria to the classroom, staircase to the library and the elevator and the sixth floor.
My campus is so tranquil that anyone would fall in love with it.

Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha Univeristy, Dwarka Sec16, New Delhi, has been my lifes turning point. It was my first step to the future I chose. Mass communication, being my choice of subject. A majors in this subject, has not only given me knowledge of how to connect to the masses but also taught me how to be heard.

But, let's not get into what I do as I'm writing to tell you what all you must do if you ever visit my campus!

Starting with a little history- Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University was established as Indraprastha University (IPU) on 28 March 1998 by the Govt. of NCT Delhi as a state University. The university was named after the ancient mythological city of Indraprastha, which features prominently in the Mahabharata epic. In 2001, the university was officially re-christened as Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University (GGSIPU) after the Tenth Great guru of Sikhs Guru Gobind Singh.
According to Times Ranking 2013 Indraprastha University is ranked 12th among the top universities of India. University School of Law and Legal Studies also ranked amongst top 10 law school of the country. Faculty of Biotechnology of university-University School of Biotechnology is ranked sixth in the list of Premier Public Biotechnology Institutes of India. Interesting right?

Yes, a little.

But what would a travelling soul like me be interested in the history and ranking of the university, right? You got me there. The only reason I'm here is for its beauty and tranquility ( although yes, studies too, pffft).
Each corner of this university is absolutely mesmerizing. You must take a hike during the cold winter mornings around the campus. The fog covered roads and chilly breeze would relax your soul. Yes! Relax your soul! The quite environment is a marvelous advantage.

During monsoons, you have to drench yourselves in raindrops and celebrate life for no reason! And yes! It's one of the best times to sip some warm coffee and tea you get in the canteen.

Spring time, is the best time! Sunshine is just about right to keep you warm, while the cold breeze would kiss your skin as if it were your lover and just waiting for you to smile. The blossoming buds around the campus fills it with colors and you will find a reason to be extravagantly blissful!

Autumn, season of the dead much? Well, I'll call it the season of reincarnation! Dry leaves on the ground and dry grass fills my soul with an understanding of how life works. Massive changes are a part of everyone's life. Just inhale, while you sit on an empty seat on the gigantic ground, look around and you will be filled with a ray of hope for a fresh new beginning (just in case you're feeling low)

Apart from enjoying all the seasons! A must visit is during the cultural festival called Anugoonj! It's the best time of the year. From music to dance, theater to street play, photography to film screening, name it and you'll find it! The amount of talent you'll find here is insane!

Come spend a day in my campus, you'll know why I wrote this piece.

Cheers & keep smiling!
